Allah is the personal name of God in Arabic. Allah is alone and there is no one there to share his powers. All the prophets sent by Allah brought the same message, i.e., believing in the oneness of Allah and the prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) as his last messenger. Islam means “to submit and surrender to the will of Allah”. Islam, which derives from the word “peace” is not a mere belief system nor a “religion” in the commonly-understood sense of the word. It is what in Arabic is called a Deen : a complete social setup and way of life which embraces the entirety of man’s existence. It does not separate what pertains to “religion”, such as acts of worship, from what pertains to human inter-action and worldly or “secular” life. If an individual performs his religious rites and worldly duties in accordance with the God-given laws with a sincere intention of pleasing Him, all of such individual’s actions are considered by Islam as worship in the broad sense of the term. A true Muslim, accordingly, is a person, who, in order to attain peace and tranquility in this world and here-in-after, submits completely to the will of Allah.
Allah sent His prophets and messengers to guide the people and to bring them to the right path. This process, which was started with the first human being Hazrat Adam (P.B.U.H), continues even after the concluding sermon of the last prophet of Islam, Mohammad (P.B.U.H), as the Holy Quran and the life of Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H) provide us with enough guidance for the humanity till the last hour, i.e., the day of Judgment.
